The Ridge - Silver Springs

Aging with grace and comfort. This 1975 raised bungalow in Calgary's Silver Springs was reimagined by listening closely to how a couple wanted to live out their senior years, without giving up an ounce of beauty or function. The home now has an elevator, full wheelchair accessibility, and a self-contained lower suite with a kitchenette, bedroom, sitting room and full bathroom: a space ready for a guest, a student companion, or a caregiver, whenever it's needed.

Inspired by mid-century modern architecture, the home opens up with vast windows and a large balcony overlooking the Rocky Mountains and the Bow River Valley in Bowmont Park. The open main living space was shaped around the couple's love of entertaining, flexible enough for a big gathering or a quiet evening in. The kitchen anchors it all, with modern appliances and carefully considered storage, while clean, elegant custom millwork keeps everyday living simple, comfortable, and easy to maintain, all on one level.
